Making Memories Paper (the dots in the corner show the pattern on back)

I found this super cute paper on a trip to Archivers recently.  I didn't want to cut it up and ruin all that cuteness.

So...

I used it to do another simple project (I like simple :).  I took a section of our local newspaper and adhered the scrapbook paper to the top half of the front page (does that make sense?).   Then I put a small amount of adhesive on each page of the newspaper, just to keep it all from opening up.  Next I gently folded it in half, added more adhesive to keep it folded, and now I have a spooky Halloween newspaper to add to my decor.
It's different.  I like it.

Spooky Books

I have wanted to make these since last Halloween.  Finally did them!  One thing to check off my list of hundreds.  Originally I was just going to cover some books with scrapbook or wrapping paper, but then I saw this idea at goody goody gum drops.  I think she painted those books.  I had two old books I was going to use to make altered books, but never did, so I figured I could just paint those.  I just used some black acrylic paint, stamps, and silver ink.  I need to check out some thrift stores for some more old books to add to my Halloween collection.

Pretend Play with Kids

Happy Labor day!  Our little family has had a very busy, but fun, weekend so far and the house shows it.  It looks like it has been ransacked by burglars.  So I did not get any of the projects done I was hoping to complete.  Tonight or tomorrow morning I should have some new projects up here.  For now I'm just sharing something fun, nothing fancy,  I did with my little ladybug.

Most of the stories little ladybug tells involve one sentence and then, "the end."  To help with that creative thinking we were going to make very simple puppets and put on shows.  I had some of those paper people from years ago.   I don't even think they sell those for scrapbooks anymore!  She colored those, taped a straw to the back, and we were ready for our show to begin.

She had so much fun with it!  The simplest things are usually the most fun for kids.  Can you tell she does not like to color and gets it over with as quick as possible? 

Mini Tin Purse

Look at this super cute tin purse!  I found it at craftbits while searching for something else.  Of course I had to try it out.  I used some mini tins that I ordered from etsy a while back.   Then I gathered up some cute scrapbook paper, ribbon, adhesive, and card stock for the accordion album inside.  This is how it turned out:

 I think it would make fun little mini album with the accordion paper inside. 

Pumpkin cupcake toppers

Fall is right around the corner.  Yay!  I love those cool and windy days.  These are cupcake toppers I made with scrapbook paper, card stock, and my pumpkin punch.  I really like the orange polka dot paper.  Something about polka dots is just so cute.
