I am so ready for spring. We've been stuck in the house too long. We're ready to play outside, blow super giant bubbles, and make sidewalk masterpieces with chalk.
Until we get past these 30 degree days we'll have to do with making it feel like spring inside the house.
Let's start with some butterfly specimen art.
Here's the "how to"
Gather up your empty frame, glue dots, foam adhesive, paper butterflies, and scrapbook paper ~or~.
If you are using a burlap background you will need cardboard and burlap instead of scrapbook paper. Cut both to the size of your frame.
For burlap background: Apply glue dots all around edge of cardboard. Press burlap down on glue dots. (I've found this to be the easiest way to get burlap neatly in a frame)
Try to get the burlap as flat a possible without stretching. (This can be a pain!)
eek! Burlap is messy when cut!
Gather all your pretty punched butterflies and foam adhesive. Lay them out in the frame to get the pattern and spacing you want before attaching.
and there's that happy little pop of spring I was looking for!
You can find a set of these butterflies (but in yellow) in my shop so you can create your own spring butterfly specimen art!
So pretty! I can't get enough of the butterfly art that I'm seeing all over. It definitely packs a Spring-y punch and looks so pretty anywhere!
